*cough* uh, yeah, no posts for a 2 years. Impressive! Anyhoos! I've decided to make another temperature blanket! It was a completely random decision, on the 2nd of January, I got up and decided! This year is sort of a special year for me... I will be turning 30 this year, a very scary thought!

This time i'm making use of what i learnt during the making of the 2017 blanket. There are a few key points I'm doing differently; the temperature ranges are only 2 degrees, rather than 3 and i'm only doing the high's.
I've decided to make a much more simple design, simple C2C, inspired by this photo:

It was one of the first I came across in my research and I love it! So simple, but effective, I really hope mine will be as striking.
I'm aiming for mine to be 130cm x 190cm, a large throw size. I made a 10cm square in the yarn and hook i planned to use, counted how many blocks in that square, and multiplied it :) I worked out that i'd need 91 x 133 blocks, which is 12,103 blocks total. I divided that by 366 (leap year!) and got 33 point something, so each day will be 33 blocks. I multiplied 33x366 to get 12078, making me 25 blocks short, so i'll just need to slip in an extra 25 blocks to reach the correct size, i'll just add an extra block to some days in the middle of the blanket. I am thinking about using a contrasting colour to signify month changes, but i'm not sure about this.

I have gone (more than) a bit mad planning this! I have designed a spreadsheet to keep track of the temperatures, that part's pretty normal... But this spreadsheet will also tell me what colour to use, based on the temperature input. It will tell me how many more 'extra blocks' i need. Is tells me how many days I've made, and lastly, it tells me what percentage of my blanket is complete! Yes. I am mad!
So there we go! New year, new blanket! Hopefully it'll go well :)
