| Completed 2017 Temperature Afghan <3 |
I'm not 100% happy with the blanket. I'm not completely happy with my colour choices, or the temperature ranges I used. I changed colour every 3° but I wish I had done so every 2... oh well all things i have learnt for my next time! ( won't be soon! :P)
My other finished project this week, a little later than the CAL ended, but Christmas happened :P This is my Spirit of Life CAL wrap, in the Volcano colourway. The CAL was designed and hosted by Tatsiana of Lilla Bjorn Crochet, and uses Scheepjes's Spirit and Catona yarns. Over the last couple weeks I slowly worked on the border and was very happy to finish this beauty! I'm currently wearing it wrapped around me, my house is quite cold and I usually have a blanket over me at the computer - this beauty fits that job perfectly!
They're my only crochet project updates I have today, but being 2 finished projects, i think it' quite good! Next up I'll be working on a Mochilla style bag and a jumper for myself. They're both in the stage where they don't really look like much of anything, so there's no photos of them, sorry!
These little hanging terrariums we're my last creative project of 2018 :D They're adorable! I went for Sunday lunch with my parents to a local garden centre and picked up a reduced to clear air plant in a bauble, when i got home I did a little googling and decided to make a macrame(ish!) hanger for the bauble, and that's the orange one in this image, with the air plant - it was a bit dried up when i bought it but it seems to be perking up nicely :) The only disappointment is that I noticed at home that there is already a flower that had bloomed and closed in the middle, and these babies only bloom once in their lives :( I believe it will still live a while though, maybe a few years!
For my first terrarium (orange) I put some carnelian gem chips in the bottom, along with some star shaped glass pebbles, and the reindeer moss that came with the plant. I really enjoyed making the hanger so I dug out a jam jar we had in the kitchen (my mum and I both collect these things! I have Yankee candle jars as storage too!) and I made the green one and had to wait patiently for some plants I ordered online for it to arrive. They did finally arrive today and they've had a little soak in water and are now drying out, I'll set up the green terrarium tomorrow, I have some fluorite chips and sea glass for that one!
I think that's all for my 2017/2018 roundup, I'm aiming to post twice a month, I do enjoy writing when i remember to do it! Actually getting the photos to post is the most difficult part at the moment with the sort days and iky weather!
Oh well, until next time!
Sioni xx
