Creative Process

The majority of my blankets are commission pieces, and they are all different, but they are all designed and created in the same way. I have all these colourful little pegs of all my yarn colours and I pick out the suitable ones and play around with making colours schemes.

My latest blanket will be for a baby boy, these are my sample colour palettes. We decided to go with the first palette and i set to work planning the colour order. Most of the time I use a 'planned random' colour layout - there is this fantastic tool Biscuits and Jam's Stripe Marker that I use to plan my colours, I pick the closest colours to my yarn, hit generate and keep refreshing until i get something i like! But for this blanket I've decided to use something more organised, inspired by my colour layout from my large rainbow stripe blanket, and this is what I came up with.

I'm loving it! There are 60 stripes, and it's going to be a ripple stitch!

I startred writing this post, as i was planning the blanket... It's now a couple of months later and the blanket is done and with it's new order, i'm terrible forgetful!

But i am ready to share the end result - and i am very happy with it :D

Isn't it wonderful? :D I am really pleased with the result, it's different, it's a new colour idea I had. Both me and the mum to be are very happy with the result! Success!

I also love the border <3

And that is it, thank you kindly for reading! I have more to post, now that I've remembered I have this blog again! ><
