The First Blog Post

I first created this blog a long time ago, and completely forgot about it. Until now! I plan to mainly fill it with things related to crochet, and to link it with my Facebook page (SionedMaiCrafts).

It's late at night that i am writing, or, well very early on a Wednesday morning! But i don't work Wednesdays, and I've just been working nights, so naturally, my sleeping pattern isn't great! Last week I finished my last baby blanket commissions and found myself with some free time to get into a looooong term project (Pink Granny Squares on Ravelry). It's coming along nicely, I've added an entire row, plus a few extra squares on top :) I've had a hard time getting this blanket done, I find plain granny squares quite boring, and the colour selections and short round makes it take more of my attention than some other projects do - simply put, I have to pay attention to what I'm doing and can't pay attention to Netflix as much as I'd like! :P

Now this project is getting put on hold again! I think I had a single days break between commissions :D Tonight I've been planning my next two baby blankets, I've already picked out colours and checked with the clients, and tonight I made sure I had enough of all the required colours, made a list of colours I'm short on and gathered everything up into a new 'project bag' - I even made a start on one of the two! Sadly you won't be getting any photos of these two until they are complete and in the hands of their new owners :P One of the two is using a very nice colour scheme that I haven't used before, that will be fun :)

My other ongoing project is my temperature afghan (What is a temperature blanket?). Well. That is quite a project! I am taking part in a Crochet-a-long with a Facebook group (here!), ran by Susan of  Felted Button, who is also the writer of this pattern. I'm using a high and low of the day, along with a temperature chart, and making a square every day, for the whole year! I generally am 1-2 weeks behind, and catch up all in one go - I am currently 10 days behind... that's worse than i expected, whoops! The photo I have of this blanket is very much out of date, I think I was up to April at this point - I have actually changed my colours since this photo, I will have to post a separate blog post about this blanket :)

I will continue to post updates about my ongoing projects, share my finished objects, patterns, whatever else I feel like! Not only about crochet, I have MANY hobbies, gaming, making videos, baking, drawing, and plenty of other crafts. I also live in North Wales and like to take the occasional photo!
